Green Jasper
Endurance over speed.
What the tradition reads it as
Jasper is one of the oldest named stones in the tradition and the least romantic. Green jasper in particular is read as steadiness — the stone of the unremarkable middle of a long effort.
When people wear it
For the maintenance phase, when nothing is starting and nothing is finishing and it simply has to keep going.
What you are actually holding
Opaque microcrystalline quartz coloured by iron silicates, with no translucency at all. Each bead has its own pattern of mottling; matched pairs are effectively impossible, which is the honest description of the material.
How to look after it
7 Mohs, opaque, no light sensitivity, no cleavage. Along with clear quartz, the most difficult stone here to damage.
Jasper appears in nearly every ancient jewellery tradition because it is everywhere and it lasts. Old lapidary texts call it the supreme nurturer, which in practice means unremarkable, dependable, and still on your wrist a year later.
In a reading
Steady and unhurried, traditionally read as endurance over speed.
Crystal meanings are described as cultural tradition, not fact. Stones and readings are offered for reflection, not as medical, financial, or legal advice.
